Is there a uniform APC polishing angle?

Are all APC connectors polished at the same angle?

Answer: No. APC connectors are typically polished at an angle of 8 degrees. However, there are also APC connectors available that are polished at another angle, e.g. 9 degrees. When APC connectors that are polished at different angles are plugged together in the same adapter, there remains a small gap between the connector tips which makes data transmission next to impossible. Whenever a legacy cabling with APC connectors needs to be amended, it is always a good idea to check the polishing angle of the legacy connectors first.
