The DigitalTWIN research project was launched in June 2018 with the objective of further developing digital tools and technologies and connecting and automating services, processes and procedures along the entire value chain in the construction industry. As part of this future project, the 2nd User Forum took place on Friday, March 15th, at Telegärtner in Steinenbronn. In various sessions and workshops, topics like "Information and Communication Technology for Construction sites" and "Data Continuity" were successfully analyzed and discussed. These included, for example, "5G on construction sites" and "Common Data Environment (CDE)". About 30 participants from all over Germany attended the meeting.
Felix Klein, project manager at Telegärtner, explains: “With the broader framework of a user forum, new and interesting aspects and impulses arose. Already set goals could be sharpened and a deeper, common understanding could be created. The event can be seen as an important building block in the further course of the project.”
DigitalTWIN - Digital Tools and Workflow Integration for Building Lifecycles - is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy as part of Smart Service World II. The aim is to expand digital services for medium-sized businesses and to secure Germany as an efficient production and innovation site. The project is intended to simplify planning, production and coordination within a construction project and provide trustworthy tools.
Several project partners and associated partners are involved in the research project. The consortium partners are globally operating construction, communication or IT companies: se commerce GmbH, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, Carl Zeiss 3D Automation GmbH, planen-bauen 4.0 and Werner Sobek Stuttgart AG.
