Loose tube fiber optic cables now available per drum

Telegärtner’s popular loose tube fiber optic cables are now also available per drum. As a practical addition to the existing pre-terminated cables and the bulk cables, this will permit particularly cost-effective installation, especially for longer cable sections.

The A/I-DQ(ZN)BH universal cable is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, thanks to a halogen-free outer jacket. Non-metallic strength members protect the optical fibers from mechanical stress when the cable is pulled in, fixed or attacked by rodents. This cable type has been used very successfully for many years in the trunk cables that customers can configure quickly and easily, 24/7, using the TICNET configuration tool on the Telegärtner website. The universal cable is available with multi-mode fibers in Categories OM1 through OM4 and with singlemode fibers in Category OS2, with 4 to 48 fibers depending on the fiber type.

The A-DQ(ZN)B2Y outdoor cable is a new addition to the product range. This particularly robust cable with rodent protection and a PE jacket is UV-stable, weather-resistant and is naturally suitable for direct burial. The outdoor cable is available with multimode fibers in Categories OM2 through OM4 and with singlemode fibers in Category OS2 with the same fiber counts as the universal cable.

It is delivered on environmentally friendly single-use wooden reels. The delivery quantity is always two kilometres regardless of fiber and cable type.

All cables can be terminated in the proven patch panels in the ECONOMY V, BASIS V and PROFI V series, as well as in the splice modules in the modular fiber optic distribution system with 1- and 3-HU module carriers. Pigtails ready for splicing make work easy and save a great deal of time.
