The unique RJ45 module with defined release force protects IT equipment

(Steinenbronn) Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH is the first manufacturer to offer an RJ45 socket with a defined release force within its product range. The AMJ-S DD module Cat.6A releases the connection to the RJ45 connecting cable in case of unwanted pulling forces without latching lever actuation. This protects expensive and mobile IT equipment with a LAN connection against damages. DD stands for Defined Disconnect and was developed by Telegärtner especially for applications with increased public traffic. The new module can be field-assembled and is design-compatible and therefore can be combined with the faceplates of renowned manufacturers.

"Our new AMJ-S DD module offers users a simple way to protect expensive and mobile IT equipment with a LAN connection against damages," assures Marcel Leonhard, Product Line Manager DataVoice Copper Solutions at Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH. Telegärtner is the first manufacturer to present an RJ45 jack with defined release force at Eltefa fair. The AMJ-S DD (Defined Disconnect) module Cat.6A releases the connection of the RJ45 patch cord in case of unwanted pulling forces without latching lever actuation.

Protection against damages and expensive repairs

The release force of the RJ45 jack in AMJ-S DD module is below the standard specifications for RJ45 plugs and jacks according to IEC 60603-7. "This may be an issue for some users because it is precisely this release which they do not want", admits Leonhard. The new product can protect expensive and mobile IT equipment against damages in case of LAN-connected applications with increased public traffic such as in hotels, training or conference rooms and schools or event and exhibition areas with the required temporary, often unstructured connections. This can effectively prevent torn off contacts or the loss of the RJ45 jack in the network connection. Of course the AMJ-S DD module offers sufficient plug-in and pulling force to prevent unintentional disconnection of the patch cord at low tensile forces.

The new module with Cat.6A (IEC 60603-7-51) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3an) performance and IDC contacts for solid AWG26-22/1 and stranded AWG27-22/7 conductors has  a robust zinc die-cast housing with 360° shielding for safe data transmission even in the event of external electrical faults. It can be assembled and installed in the field without special tools. Likewise, it is design compatible and can be combined with the faceplates of renowned manufacturers. Telegärtner offers the new AMJ-S DD module also with the appropriate faceplate for the building installation.

The new module extends our product range

The new module is recommended for new installations. It supplements the connection module DDCP-Link introduced in 2013, which has proven itself in existing installations.
