Are keystone modules standardized?

Answer: The keystone format is standardized by IEC 60603-7. The most important dimensions and the tolerances that go with them are specified by this standard. However there are different designs of module carriers and faceplates available and do modules of one manufacturer do not necessarily fit into the modules carriers and faceplates of another manufacturer. Compatibility lists show which modules fit into which module carrier and faceplate. Such a list can be downloaded from the Telegärtner website as well as lists for module carriers of various floor boxes.

Nobody knows everything. A comprehensive topic like IT cabling inevitably raises questions. This column gives answers to questions which reached Telegärtner’s Technical Helpdesk and which we consider interesting for everyone. Please do not hesitate to send us your questions, we will be happy to answer them. The questions will be published anonymously, of course.
